Initial situation and risk assessment
Gebert Architects recognized early on that an increasingly digitized market environment requires stable, scalable, and secure IT structures. The existing, locally operated infrastructure offers only limited reliability and increases the risk of operational disruptions.
At the same time, without an overarching IT and security strategy, vulnerability to cyber threats increases. Against this backdrop, a forward-looking analysis of the system landscape was initiated to minimize risks and ensure long-term competitiveness.
Consulting and preparation
The existing collaboration (web project) had already established trust. When the request for a new IT solution came in, the path was quickly paved.
During the conversation, it quickly became clear that the internal IT department was reaching its limits, not only in terms of technology but also in terms of personnel. Too much depended on individual people, and too little was secured.
Together , we have refined our goal: a future-proof IT infrastructure that provides security, availability, and relief.
Moving central services to the cloud (with Azure, AVD, and SharePoint) was convincing. This was followed by a thorough inventory, which also took third-party systems into account. In a coordinated concept, we ran through initial migration scenarios and planned the next steps.
Conversion of the basic systems
The changeover began on a weekend so as not to disrupt ongoing operations. On Monday, everything continued as usual—only more stable, faster, and more secure.
We were right there on site, accompanying the team, answering questions, and running through new processes together. Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Planner were introduced gradually so that everyone could keep up. It wasn't a big project, but rather a series of small, manageable steps.
The new way of working quickly took shape. Internal communication became easier, collaboration clearer, and the sense of responsibility within the team grew.

Implementation of the subsequent phases
Telephony was moved to the cloud, and the transition took place without interruption during the lunch break. Today, the team can be reached regardless of location.
Data storage has also been revamped: cleaned up, structured, and equipped with clear access rights. Backups, integrations, security—everything runs in the background.
For the team, one thing in particular has changed: it simply works. No detours, no duplicate files, no uncertainties. IT has become a reliable backbone. And Gebert Architects now has a foundation on which to continue working digitally. Step by step, at its own pace, but with plenty of momentum.
