Bureaurama Brönimann AG, a traditional company based in the Biel region, offers comprehensive office furnishings and a wide range of stationery products. With four locations and 70 employees, Bureaurama focuses on down-to-earth and practical solutions.
In order to meet the increasing requirements, the company recognized the need to further develop the existing IT infrastructure. The on-premise server structure was increasingly reaching its limits, as it could no longer offer the flexibility and efficiency required for modern working methods.
When the IT infrastructure became an obstacle
With clear goals in mind, Bureaurama quickly realized that the existing IT infrastructure could no longer keep up. The previous service provider and IT infrastructure no longer met the requirements. Bureaurama felt inhibited in its growth and was looking for a more proactive provider and a more modern solution. The decision to change the IT service provider was made in an effort to future-proof the infrastructure and set new standards.
In order to remain competitive, a modern and location-independent IT infrastructure had to be created that not only forms the basis for further digitization measures, but also enables location-independent working. This is an important step forward, especially for demanding 3D and 2D drawings in their planning.
A thorough analysis reveals the weak points
When Raptus began to take a closer look at Bureaurama's IT landscape, it quickly became clear that a number of problems were hidden behind the façade: outdated systems, a lack of updates and various security gaps posed a major risk.
Our raptors took the time to understand Bureaurama's specific requirements. A key objective was to enable employees to carry out CAD planning from their home office. After thorough analysis, Azure Virtual Desktop with 3D graphics acceleration was identified as the optimal solution - both cost-efficient and perfectly tailored to Bureaurama's needs.
Careful implementation in the background
With the clear vision of a modern IT infrastructure in mind, the Raptors set to work. The previous systems had had their day - it was time to bring the network up to date. Bit by bit, the security gaps were closed and the network was prepared.
To ensure that operations continued smoothly, Raptus carefully planned the changeover for a weekend. The old system remained in place like a safety net, ready in case something went wrong. But everything went like clockwork: The new Azure environment integrated seamlessly and not a single bit was lost.
Fine-tuning after implementation
After the successful launch, everything seemed to be running smoothly - until unexpected delays suddenly occurred when opening large files. The planners were frustrated as their work came to a standstill. Raptus reacted immediately and carried out extensive tests to find the cause. It turned out that the profiles were stored in an inconvenient location, which was affecting performance. The problem was quickly resolved by moving them to local storage locations. The relief was huge: the system was now working perfectly, paving the way for future projects.
Progress and efficiency through cloud transformation
Bureaurama is now ideally equipped to tackle future digitalization projects and promote the Modern Workplace. With the introduction of the new cloud system, Bureaurama has made significant progress:
- The new cloud system allows Bureaurama to take further steps towards digitalization and automate processes, while security has been significantly improved and is resistant to attacks.
- The IT costs are easy to calculate thanks to a clearly structured license model, and the fixed-price model ensures that Raptus has an interest in the smooth operation of the systems. No more surprises when it comes to costs!
- Expensive 3D workstations are no longer necessary as planners can work in the cloud. The systems are easily scalable and the option to work from home has been strengthened, which promotes the modern workplace aspect.
